Next year marks the 20th anniversary of my artistic career.
\nThis exhibition will feature the first display of the fully completed version of \u201cMinato Kobe Bird’s Eye Map 2025.\u201d
\nIt depicts the current state of Kobe, 30 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

Daisuke Aoyama<\/h3>\n
Born in Kobe
\nDuring high school, he encountered the bird’s-eye-view drawings of the late Masashi Ishihara, a leading figure in the field, and was deeply impressed. He then aspired to become a bird’s-eye-view artist through self-study.<\/div>\n

Activity History<\/h4>\n
\n

2011: Completed \u201cPort Kobe Bird’s Eye Map 2008\u201d after three and a half years of production.
\n2013: Published \u201cBird’s Eye View of Port Town Kobe 2008\u201d (Kutoten).
\n2014: Produced a revised edition of the same work, adopted for Kobe City’s tsunami evacuation information boards and installed at three locations within the city.
\n2015: As an urban bird’s-eye view artist, released the \u201cOsaka Umeda Bird’s-Eye View 2013,\u201d tackling the Osaka Umeda area.
\n2016: Revised \u201cPort Kobe Bird’s Eye Map 2014\u201d into \u201cPort Kobe Bird’s Eye Map 2017.\u201d Alongside \u201cPort Kobe Bird’s Eye Map 1868\u201d\u2014the first work depicting Kobe 150 years ago\u2014displayed at locations including the 24th-floor observation lobby of Kobe City Hall Building 1 for the Kobe Port Opening 150th Anniversary Project.
\n2017 Published \u201cPort Town Kobe: Past and Present Bird’s-Eye Views 2017 & 1868\u201d (Kutoten).
\n2018 Began production of a bird’s-eye view of Hakodate, Hokkaido.
\nProduced a bird’s-eye view illustration for the passenger ship \u201cPacific Venus\u201d (Nippon Cruise Line).
\n2019 Created bird’s-eye views of each cruise ship as commemorative gifts for international cruise ship arrivals for the Kobe City Port Authority.
\nAnnounced the collaborative project \u201cKobe Sannomiya on a Certain Day 2018\u201d with the former Sogo Kobe Store (now Kobe Hankyu).
\nFeatured Hakodate bird’s-eye view in JR East’s Shinkansen in-train magazine \u201cTrans-Veil\u201d.
\nCreated an original Shibuya bird’s-eye view for the cover of Magazine House’s \u201cShibuya! New Ways to Explore\u201d.
\nProduced a giant mural of the \u201cAsuka II\u201d for the first phase of the Kobe Maritime Museum renovation.
\n2020: Exhibited works in Sannomiya Center Street for NHK Kobe Broadcasting Station’s \u201c9131: Connecting Through Art – What Happened After That Day\u201d.
\n2021: Produced commemorative items for Hakone Town Tourism Division.
\nPublished \u201cBird’s-Eye View of Himeji Castle Town in the Reiwa Era 2021\u201d for the Harima Studies Institute.
\n2022: Illustrated the picture book \u201cKobe Port Story: What Grandpa Container Saw at Kobe Port\u201d (co-authored with Natsuki Tanigawa), published by Kobe City and distributed as supplementary reading material for elementary school students.
\nCreated \u201cBird’s-Eye View of Ancient Port City Hyogo-tsu,\u201d installed at Hyogo Prefectural Hyogo-tsu Museum \/ Hyogo Hajimari-kan.
\n2023: Completed \u201cHakodate Bird’s-Eye Map 2018.\u201d
\nReceived the Kobe City Cultural Encouragement Award for Fiscal Year 2023.
\n2024: Picture book \u201cA Day at the Port: Container-kun’s Journey\u201d (co-authored with Natsuki Tanigawa) published by Waits Co., Ltd.
\nPublished the \u201cFirst-Generation Kobe Station Bird’s-Eye View\u201d commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Kobe-Osaka Railway opening.
\nPublished the picture book \u201cKobe Port Story: The Port of Kobe as Seen by Grandpa Container\u201d (co-authored with Natsuki Tanigawa) by Seeds Planning Co., Ltd.
\nReceived the Japan Ports Association Planning Award.
