Concept
People, objects, phenomena in the world, and souls—all existence is, from a macro perspective, “temporarily existing as everything serves as a support medium,” while simultaneously, from a micro perspective, “perfectly existing as its true state.”
I have pursued this as the Support Medium Theory, alongside production, as the twin pillars of my creative practice.
This exhibition centers on the Unpronounced series, which symbolically embodies this Support Theory. Alongside three-dimensional works presented in the 2023 solo exhibition “Masaki Tani -syncasync-,” it traces the evolution of this concept.
Masaki TANI
Born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. Active in Shizuoka from 2012 to 2017, serving as an instructor at the Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art’s practical skills studio.
In 2018, joined the PixCell production team at SANDWICH in Kyoto, serving as an assistant for artwork creation. Currently based in Kobe City, operating an after-school day service focused on physical and art therapy.
Expresses through multiple media including sculpture, painting, video, and performance, based on the unique production theory “Support Theory.”

We will be holding a workshop for the artwork Drawing for Gravity.
Since the technique involves rolling an ink-coated glass bead across paper, anyone of any age or gender is welcome to join!
